Disclaimer
Some of our pages require browser plug-ins. We do not produce these plug-ins, so you will need to download them from the specific companies.
All the plug-ins you need are FREE to download and use. You will not be asked for any credit card information to download and use these plug-ins. When you download them, you will be asked to agree to some terms and conditions with the other company. This does not involve SVS. The companies you download plug-ins from must also tell you what they will do with any information you provide.
Some companies may offer you other products, including products that are paid for. SVS does not endorse any products or plug-ins made by other companies and is not liable for their download or use.
PDF Documents
Portable Document Files (PDFs) allow us to present information in an easily accessed manner. This is sometimes the easiest way to get the information to you.
PDFs allow you to download the information we provide onto your hard drive, so that you can read or print in you own leisure, without having to be online.
To view PDFs you will need the latest version of Adobe's plug-in which can be downloaded from here.
Flash Content
Flash is similar to a animation or moving image. It allows for a very visual style of website. Some of the pages on this site include Flash so you will need the latest version of Flash Player to view this content.
Flash Player is available for free from here.
You do not need flash to view this site, but where Flash content is used you will only see an image rather than an animation or movie.
What are 'plug-ins'?
Plug-ins are small bits of software that let you view a document, and are called plug-ins because they 'plug in' to your browser the first time you download them onto your computer, generally installing automatically.
Once you download a plugin, they start themselves whenever they are required - that is, whenever you visit a website designed to be viewed using a particular plug-in.
You may wonder why plug-ins are needed at all and why the main browser types don't automatically include every type of functionality as standard? The answer is that this would simply not be practical.
There are hundreds of plug-ins - with new ones created all the time - and a basic package could never include them all and be up-to-date.
